Introduction

KIYOHARA & CO.,PATENT ATTORNEYS (hereinafter "KIYOHARA") considers protection of personal information as a social responsibility. In order to comply with the law dealing with personal information and other relevant norms, KIYOHARA defines the following privacy policies.
KIYOHARA strives to protect acquired personal information in order to provide customers with further reliability and security.

1. Acquisition of Personal Information

KIYOHARA shall properly acquire personal information through no deception or other wrongful means.

2. Purpose of Utilizing Personal Information

(1) KIYOHARA shall utilize personal information within the range required for the following purposes.

  • 1) Business of patent attorneys
  • 2) Response and sending of materials for inquiries such as estimation request, consultation, and procedure.
  • 3) Information of seminar and other events
  • 4) Sending of e-mail newsletters and greeting cards, etc.
  • 5) Other purposes involved in the purposes 1) to 4)

(2) KIYOHARA shall utilize personal information regarding constituent members of KIYOHARA for personnel management. Personal information acquired for recruitment activity shall be utilized for matters concerning the activity such as communication for employment and relection, etc.

3. Safety Management of Personal Information

 KIYOHARA shall take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal information handled by KIYOHARA and to safely manage other personal information.

4. Entrustment of Personal Information

In case where KIYOHARA entrusts all or part of handling of personal information to a third party, KIYOHARA shall conduct a necessary survey for eligibility of the third party and exercise a necessary and appropriate supervision of the third party to have the third party safely manage personal information entrusted by KIYOHARA.

5. Provision to Third Party

KIYOHARA shall not, excluding cases provided by law such as Personal Information Protection Law, provide to third parties any personal information without their prior consent.

6. Disclosure and Correction, etc. of Personal Information

In case where KIYOHARA is requested for disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, discontinuance and elimination of utilization, and notification of purpose of use of personal information from relevant person, KIYOHARA shall respond swiftly to the request after investigation. In case where personal identification is not confirmed by KIYOHARA and there are any grounds which fall under rejection by Personal Information Protection Law and other laws, KIYOHARA may reject the request. In accordance with Personal Information Protection Law, KIYOHARA may charge a commission within a reasonable range for response to request for notification of purpose of use and disclosure of personal information.

7. Change of Privacy Policy

KIYOHARA may change this privacy policy according to changes of service contents or laws, etc.
